Describe something you liked very much that you bought for your home.

  • what you bought
  • when and where you bought it
  • why you chose this particular thing
  • and explain why you liked it so much.

One of my favourite purchases for my home is a wooden bookshelf that I bought about six months ago. I purchased it from a local furniture store in my city, which specialises in handmade wooden items.

I had been searching for a bookshelf for quite some time because my collection of books was getting out of control — they were stacked on my desk, my bedside table, and even on the floor. One Saturday afternoon, I came across this beautiful, tall bookshelf made of solid oak wood. It had five shelves, each wide enough to hold a row of books, and a simple but elegant design that perfectly matched the interior of my living room.

I chose this particular one for two main reasons. First, it was extremely sturdy, and I knew it would last for years. Second, I loved the natural wood grain pattern, which gave it a warm, rustic charm. It wasn’t cheap, but I considered it an investment because of its quality and craftsmanship.

I liked it so much because it completely transformed the way my living space looked. Before, my books and small decorative items were scattered everywhere, making the room feel cluttered. Once I arranged everything neatly on the bookshelf, the room felt more organised and aesthetically pleasing. It also gave me a sense of satisfaction every time I looked at it, because it reflected my personality and my love for reading.

In fact, whenever guests visit, it’s one of the first things they notice, and it often becomes a conversation starter. So, for me, this bookshelf isn’t just a piece of furniture; it’s something that adds beauty, order, and a little bit of my identity to my home.
