Read the sample IELTS speaking part 1 answer on the topic of How often do you wear jewellery. By reading this sample answer, you can get some ideas about different questions that will help you in the actual exam.

1. How often do you wear jewellery?

I don’t wear jewellery very often, maybe only on special occasions like weddings or family gatherings. The main reason is that I prefer a simple style in my daily life, and I find jewellery a bit uncomfortable to wear all the time. Besides, I feel jewellery is more of a luxury than a necessity, so I don’t make it part of my routine.

2. What type of jewellery do you like best?

I like wristwatches the most, if they count as jewellery. I think they are both stylish and practical because they complete an outfit and also help me keep track of time. Another reason is that watches come in many designs, so I can choose one that suits my mood or personality.

3. When do people like to give jewellery in your country?

In my country, jewellery is usually given on big occasions like engagements, weddings, or anniversaries. It’s considered a symbol of love and long-lasting commitment, so people feel it’s the perfect gift for such important events. Sometimes it is also given during festivals, as people believe it brings good fortune and prosperity.

4. Have you ever given jewellery to someone as a gift?

Yes, I once gave a necklace to my mother on her birthday. I wanted to show her my appreciation, and jewellery seemed like a meaningful and memorable gift. It was a small piece, but she was really touched, which made the moment unforgettable for me.
