Describe an occasion when you had to do something in a hurry.

  • what you had to do
  • why you had to do this in a hurry
  • how well you did this
  • and explain how you felt about having to do this in a hurry.

One occasion that comes to my mind is when I almost missed a morning flight to Karachi last year. I had set my alarm for 5 a.m., but somehow, I pressed the snooze button without realizing it and woke up almost an hour late. When I looked at the clock, my heart just dropped — I had only about forty minutes to get ready and leave for the airport.

I quickly packed my remaining things, skipped breakfast, and rushed to call a cab. The driver took a bit longer to arrive, which made me even more anxious. I remember brushing my hair and checking my passport in the car at the same time. It was a bit chaotic, to be honest. Thankfully, I had checked in online the night before, so when I reached the airport, I just had to drop off my luggage and head straight to the boarding gate.

I managed to reach the gate just in time — maybe five minutes before they started closing it. I was sweating and completely out of breath, but also incredibly relieved. Looking back, I feel like I handled the situation quite well, even though I was panicking a little. It taught me a lesson to double-check my alarms and prepare everything the night before a flight.

In the end, it turned out fine, but that rush early in the morning was definitely not something I’d want to experience again!
