A person from my country who has won a famous award is Arshad Nadeem, the javelin thrower who won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games and also performed brilliantly at the Olympics. He’s from a small town in Pakistan, and his story is really inspiring because he achieved success despite having very limited resources or training facilities.
I first heard about him when he represented Pakistan at the Tokyo Olympics. Even though he didn’t win a medal there, he made the whole nation proud because he was competing at such a high level. Later, when he won gold at the Commonwealth Games, it was all over the news — people were celebrating, and it felt like a huge moment for Pakistani sports.
What impressed me most was his hard work and determination. He trained without fancy equipment or proper funding, yet he managed to compete with world-class athletes. It shows how talent and persistence can overcome any obstacle.
I strongly believe he truly deserved that gold medal. Not only did he bring pride to the country, but he also inspired young athletes to believe that they can succeed through effort and dedication, even without big facilities. His journey is a reminder that passion and hard work always pay off in the end.
