In my country, only two types of shows are famous. Firstly, people like to watch game shows, in which participants win different prizes by winning a certain competition. Then, people are fascinated by comedy shows, as it’s a part of culture to make jokes and laugh. I would say that they watch this type of show just to learn some new jokes.

This phenomenon is very common nowadays in the entertainment industry. Most of the TV programs are related to the games now, and I can think of two reasons for their popularity. The first reason is that people are just getting greedy nowadays, so when they watch someone winning a huge prize in a game, they want to get that too, no matter what. Moreover, people watch those game shows to learn something useful about games like their benefits, etc.
3. Do you think TV is the main way for people to get the news in your country?
TV is quite popular for watching the news in my country, but it has lost its fame in the past few years. This is mainly because of the popularity of social media. People believe that social media shares news that is more accurate than state-controlled media channels on TV. Therefore, TV and social media are the two sources of getting news in my country.
4. What types of products are advertised most often on TV?
These days, everything is being advertised on TV due to its huge viewership. Multinational companies advertise grocery items, cars, bikes, household cleaning utensils, furniture, and literally everything is promoted through ads on TV, so they can increase their customer base.
5. Do you think that people pay attention to adverts on TV?
It depends on different factors. Firstly, let’s say you are watching your favourite TV show, and suddenly an ad comes up, it will be quite stressful for you as it disengages you from your show. Secondly, for the smaller kids, ads are very interesting, they watch those ads about different technological products, and then try to convince their parents to buy it for them.
