Read the sample IELTS speaking part 3 answer on the topic of important things people consider while choosing a hotel. By reading this sample answer, you can get some ideas about different questions that will help you in the actual exam.

1. What things are important when people are choosing a hotel?

Well, I think the most important factors are location, price, and facilities. For instance, many travelers prefer hotels close to tourist attractions or transport links. Price also plays a huge role because people want value for money. On top of that, facilities like Wi-Fi, cleanliness, and good customer service can really influence someone’s decision.

2. Why do some people not like staying in hotels?

There are several reasons for this. Some people feel that hotels lack privacy and they prefer the comfort of their own homes. Others may find hotels too expensive or too noisy, especially in busy tourist areas. In addition, certain travelers feel more relaxed in guest houses or homestays, where the environment feels more personal and homely.

3. Do you think staying in a luxury hotel is a waste of money?

Not necessarily. It really depends on the person and the purpose of their trip. For business travelers or people celebrating a special occasion, luxury hotels can provide comfort and convenience that cheaper places can’t match. However, for budget travelers who spend most of their time outside sightseeing, paying for luxury may not be worth it. So, it comes down to priorities.

4. How have hotels changed compared to the past?

Hotels have changed a lot over the years. In the past, hotels mainly offered just a room and basic meals. But nowadays, many hotels provide high-tech facilities, such as smart check-ins, fitness centers, and even spa services. I think competition in the travel industry has pushed hotels to improve their services to meet the expectations of modern travelers.
