Describe a monument (e.g., a statue or sculpture) that you like.
- what this monument is
- where this monument is
- what it looks like
- and explain why you like this monument.
Well, the monument I’d like to talk about is the Minar-e-Pakistan, which is located in Lahore, one of the biggest cities in my country. It’s quite a famous landmark and many people from all over Pakistan come to visit it.
The monument is basically a tall tower that was built to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of 1940, which was a very important step in the creation of Pakistan. The structure itself is very unique because it’s a mixture of Mughal, Islamic, and modern architecture. It has a broad base, which is shaped like a flower, and as you look up, the tower becomes narrower until it reaches the top. At night, when it’s lit up with bright lights, it looks even more beautiful and impressive.
I like this monument for a couple of reasons. First, it represents a turning point in our history, so whenever I see it, I feel a sense of pride and respect for the struggles of our leaders. Second, it’s surrounded by a big park, where families and friends often go for picnics and leisure activities, so it’s not just a historical place but also a social spot. Personally, I have some good memories of visiting it with my cousins when I was younger, so it always gives me a nostalgic feeling.
So overall, Minar-e-Pakistan is a monument that I truly admire because of both its historical significance and its beautiful design.
