Read the sample IELTS speaking part 3 answer on the topic: When do families celebrate together in your country? By reading this sample answer, you can get some ideas about different questions that will help you in the actual exam.

1. When do families celebrate together in your country?

In my country, families usually celebrate together during major festivals like Eid, weddings, or birthdays. These occasions are a great chance for everyone to catch up, share food, and strengthen relationships. Sometimes, even distant relatives come over, so the house becomes full of laughter and noise. It’s one of the things that really brings people closer.

2. How often do all the generations in a family come together in your country?

Honestly, not as often as before. With everyone being busy with work or living in different cities, full family gatherings usually happen only a few times a year, maybe during Eid or a big wedding. In small towns, though, it’s still quite common for grandparents, parents, and grandchildren to live close by and meet more regularly.

3. Why is it that some people might not enjoy attending family occasions?

Well, not everyone feels comfortable at family events. Some people find them tiring because there can be too many questions or even comparisons from relatives. Others might prefer spending their free time quietly instead of attending big gatherings. Also, if there are old family conflicts, those situations can become a bit awkward.

4. Do you think family celebrations are as important as they used to be?

To some extent, yes, but the way people celebrate has changed. These days, many prefer smaller, more private get-togethers rather than huge family functions. However, I still think they’re important because they remind people of their roots and help younger generations appreciate family traditions.
