Read the sample IELTS speaking part 1 answer on the topic of What’s your favourite fruit. By reading this sample answer, you can get some ideas about different questions that will help you in the actual exam.
1. What’s your favourite fruit?
Honestly, my favourite fruit is mango, especially during the summer when it’s in season. It’s sweet, juicy, and has that rich aroma that immediately reminds me of childhood. I also like that you can eat it in so many ways—fresh, in milkshakes, or even frozen as a dessert.
2. Are there any kinds of fruit that you don’t like eating?
Yes, I’m not a big fan of grapefruit. I find it a bit too bitter, and even though people say it’s healthy, the taste just doesn’t appeal to me. I’ve tried it several times in salads and juices, but I still can’t get used to it.
3. Do you like eating cooked food that has fruit in it?
It depends. I enjoy dishes like apple pie or pineapple on pizza, even though it’s a bit controversial. But I don’t really like cooked bananas or fruits in curries—they become too soft and lose their natural flavour. So I’d say I like some of those dishes but not all.
4. Where’s the best place to buy fruit where you live?
The best place is definitely the local fruit market near my house. The fruit there is fresher and cheaper compared to supermarkets because it comes directly from nearby farms. The sellers also let you taste before buying, so you know exactly what you’re getting.
