The diagram below shows how a biofuel called ethanol is produced.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The diagram illustrates the mechanism of biofuel such as ethanol.

Overall, the process of ethanol manufacturing involves nine major steps initiating from plants and trees use the energy for their growth to ethanol use in cars and trucks to produce carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide is again used by plants.

To begin, plants get sunlight and carbon dioxide from the air that is essential for their growth. Then, the farmers start harvesting the plants with the help of farm trailer. Afterwards, plant harvesting material is placed in the preprocessing machine to produce cellulose. In the next step, cellulose is being processed with chemicals in the laboratory for production of sugar. In the subsequent steps, microbes are added to the sugar for production of biofuel such as ethanol. After this step, ethanol is now ready to use as a fuel for vehicles like cars, trucks, and airplane. At final stage, these vehicles produce a large amount of carbon dioxide in the air that is again used by plants and trees for growth and the process goes on.

The diagram depicts the production of ethanol, known as biofuel, from trees.

Overall, it is a cyclic process consisting of three main stages, starting from harvesting the trees and ending with the production of ethanol as well as carbon dioxide produced by vehicles is then use again by plants and the cycle continues.

At the initial stage, trees are harvested and subjected to the machines for pre-processing. Mechanical processes led to the conversion of barks of the trees into cellulose. Once prepared, cellulose is sent to chemical industries. After the series of chemical processes sugar is obtained, which is the main ingredient in the process of making ethanol.

Afterward, microbes are added in the sugar which led to the production of ethanol. It is then used as a fuel in various modes of transportation such as cars, airplanes and trucks. This fuel is also known as biofuel as it is obtained from nature. Moreover, the carbon dioxide generated by vehicles, ultimately moved in to the air and become the source of energy for trees and thereby completing and continuing the cycle.
