The map displays the current design with future prospects of a university’s sports centre.
Overall, the area is going to witness dramatic changes after it is redeveloped. The future plans include some major additions such as a leisure pool, a café, a sports hall, and dance studios.
Firstly, there are two outdoor courts on either side of the current sports centre. The plan involves the demolition of these courts and increasing the area of the sports centre.
Secondly, the present sports centre consists of a 25m pool at the center, surrounded by a changing room and seating on the west and east sides respectively. The north end of the centre has a gym, whereas a reception lies at the south end. The redevelopments do not change this layout except for the gym, which is to be expanded towards the east. Furthermore, there are major developments expected in the expanded sports centre. A leisure pool in the north-west of the reception area, a changing room, and a sports shop on the west of the reception. Moreover, to the east of the reception area, there is a café alongside a changing room. Straight across is a sports hall, and two dance studios are to be built to the east of the sports hall.
