The picture illustrates the process by which sugar is produced with the help of sugar cane.
Overall, there are seven stages involved in the process, beginning from the growing of sugar cane and culminating in the drying and cooling of sugar crystals.
Initially, sugar cane is planted and grown for a minimum period of 12 months, which could be prolonged to 18 months. Once ready for harvesting, farmers use manual labor or specialized machinery to harvest the crops of sugar cane. The harvested sugar canes are crushed in a machine to extract the juice. After that, a limestone filter is used to purify the juice, which is then placed in an evaporator and heat is provided to convert the liquid juice to syrup.
Subsequently, the syrup is put in a centrifuge machine, which rotates at a speed to separate the sugar crystals from the syrup. The manufactured sugar crystals are stored in a container and left to dry and cool down.
