Describe a day when you thought the weather was perfect.
- where you were on this day
- what the weather was like on this day
- what you did during the day
- and explain why you thought the weather was perfect on this day.
Before talking about this perfect weather, I should mention that I’ve experienced all kinds of weather in the past—harsh winters, scorching summers, and even unexpected storms. However, one of the most amazing days with perfect weather was when I visited Banff National Park in Canada last summer. The weather that day was absolutely stunning—clear blue skies, a gentle breeze, and a comfortable temperature of around 22°C, which made exploring the park an absolute delight.
I spent most of the day hiking through the scenic trails, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and crystal-clear lakes. One of the highlights was visiting Lake Louise, where the turquoise water shimmered under the bright sunlight. I also stopped by a cozy café near the lake, enjoying a cup of hot chocolate while admiring the mesmerizing view. Later in the afternoon, I took a canoe ride on the lake, which was a truly unforgettable experience.
What made the weather perfect was that it was neither too hot nor too cold, allowing me to enjoy every moment outdoors without feeling uncomfortable. If it had been rainy or too windy, I wouldn’t have been able to go hiking or canoeing, and the experience wouldn’t have been as magical. That day, everything felt just right, making it one of the most enjoyable outdoor adventures I’ve ever had.
Tip for Speaking Part 2: Relate your past experience
Most of the time in the IELTS speaking part 2, we cannot immediately start answering the question, because we lack enough ideas. But still we have to speak for 1-2 minutes. So, to give an extended response, what we can do is we can give a few sentences related to our previous experiences at the start. Here’s how:
Talk about your past experience the first in 1-2 sentences:
Lets take an example:
Question: Describe a job you would like to have in the future.
Answer: I have gained experience in various roles across different companies in the past. However, one specific position I aspire to hold is that of a senior consultant in my company.
In the above answer, the first sentence states our past experience. By adding such a sentence or sentences at the start, we have a chance to think what to say next and develop our response easily, like a story.
