IELTS Speaking Band 6.5 Sample Answer

My uncle’s house is very big. It is in the city center, and, um, it’s a nice place. The house is, like, really spacious. It has, uh, three bedrooms, and a living room. Also, the kitchen is quite big. The living room is well decorated, with, uh, a large sofa and a big TV. The bedrooms are also nice. The walls are painted in white, no, actually light gray.

I like this house because it’s very comfortable. Also, it has a big balcony where we can sit and enjoy tea. However, the location is not so great because it is, um, too noisy. Traffic is a big problem, and, uh, parking is difficult.

Another thing I like are, ahh is the backyard. It is small but, uh, it has some plants and a small table for sitting. The house also have a guest room, which is sometimes used as a storage room. The windows in the bedrooms lets in a lot of natural light, which makes the room feels bright and airy.

Overall, my uncle’s house is a good place to live. But, um, I think I prefer houses in quieter areas. I would like to live in a place like this, but maybe, uh, in a less crowded area. Living in big houses are nice, but sometimes it can be hard to maintain.
