Describe a TV documentary you watched that was particularly interesting.

  • what the documentary was about
  • why you decided to watch it
  • what you learnt during the documentary and explain why the TV documentary was

One of the most interesting TV documentaries I have ever watched is Our Planet, narrated by David Attenborough. It is a nature documentary that explores the beauty of the natural world, showcasing different ecosystems, wildlife, and the impact of climate change on our planet. The visuals were breathtaking, with high-definition footage of forests, oceans, and rare animal species.

I decided to watch it because I have always been fascinated by nature and wildlife. When I saw it trending on Netflix, I thought it would be a great way to learn more about the environment and how human activities are affecting it. Also, I admire David Attenborough’s work, so I was excited to listen to his narration.

During the documentary, I learned about the effects of deforestation, global warming, and pollution on different species. It was eye-opening to see how climate change is causing glaciers to melt, leading to rising sea levels. One of the most memorable parts was seeing how animals like polar bears and sea turtles struggle to survive due to habitat destruction, which disrupts their natural way of life.

What made this documentary particularly interesting was its combination of stunning visuals, informative content, and emotional storytelling. It not only provided scientific facts but also encouraged viewers to step up and take action to protect the environment. After watching it, I became more conscious of my carbon footprint and started making small changes, like reducing plastic use and conserving water. It was a real eye-opener, making me realize how urgent it is to address climate change.

Tip for IELTS Speaking Part 2:

Some students struggle to speak for 1 to 2 minutes in this part of the speaking test. They are unable to give an extended answer and stop in the middle.

This reduces their score because the examiner wants them to speak for minimum 1 minute.

To speak easily for 2 minutes on the given topic of cue card in IELTS speaking, follow these two tips:

1. Give a general sentence at the start:

At the beginning of your answer, you should add a general sentence related to the question given in the cue card.

For example, if the cue card question is, “Describe a book you read recently”.

The general sentence could be like, “Although I have read many books in my life, today I will talk about one book that I read last week. The name of the book is ‘War and Peace’ written by Leo Tolstoy”

By adding such a general sentence at the start, you will be able to build a story and speak easily.

2. Use the time given at the start effectively:

Some students just think what to say in the cue card in their mind, this is wrong.

We should take down some notes or write key points related the question. Then you will be able to speak longer and fluently.
