Describe a time when you met someone who you became good friends with.

  • who you met
  • when and where you met this person
  • what you thought about this person when you first met
  • and explain why you think you became good friends with this person

Once, I was travelling on a train from my hometown to another city, and I met a person who later became my friend when our train journey ended.

Actually, I get on the train at the main station of my hometown, and this guy gets on the train when half of my journey is remaining. We were sitting beside each other, and all of a sudden, he asked me to share the newspaper that I was reading. I gave him a few pages of the newspaper, and after reading them, he began the conversation.

The conversation started when he asked me if I had more information about one of the news stories. The news story was about the missing person who disappeared or was kidnapped last month. I told him that I had known the kidnapped person since my childhood, as we both lived in the same neighbourhood. Then he got some more information from me about it, and he was really worried about the increase in crime in our society.

We continued talking with each other for the next 3 hours, and shared a lot of personal information with each other. We had similar interests and a few disagreements as well on certain things about life. However, I realized that he’s the kind of person whom I should have met out a few years earlier. Then, he offered to be his friend, which I gladly accepted and shared my contact number with him.

It’s been 3 years since that occasion, and we are still friends. We occasionally chat or video call each other, and share a journey together if possible.
