Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my appreciation for your outstanding performance at the concert which I attended last weekend.

I was particularly impressed by your voice, confidence and ability to connect with audience. Your performance made evening truly memorable for me and I would love to attend your concert again in future.

I am also very interested in musical activities and I spend my free time improving my singing skills. I practice for an hour every day and occasionally perform at small family and community events. Currently, I am working on my voice control, pronunciation and confidence.

I would be extremely grateful if you could help me develop my musical abilities. If possible, I would like to attend your workshop or receive a few personal tips about practicing effectively.

I look forward for your feedback.

Yours Sincerely,

Aleena

Band Score Analysis:

  • The student has written a good introductory sentence.
  • Punctuation mistakes [one explained in the above point, and when we use ‘which’, there must be a comma before it. There are some mistakes with the use of articles]
  • The first bullet point is not explained properly; you had to share your feelings here.
  • No linking words are used
  • Word count is low, which explains why you got a low score in task response [mainly due to lack of explanation for each bullet point]
  • To make it a 6.5 letter or above: add more explanation, join sentences using conjunctions and linking words, and remove all other grammar mistakes as well.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my appreciation following your musical performance last week.

I have been to a lot of musical concerts in the past, but this one was truly emotional and memorable for me. This is because I have never heard a singer who sings with such emotion and energy. Then, the choice of music, specifically the song ‘Broken Love ‘, was exceptional; the lyrics of this song resonated deeply with me, as they closely parallel a personal phase I am currently navigating. The experience left me feeling remarkably rejuvenated, teaching me the true meaning of life.

Now, I would like to give you a brief overview of some of the musical activities I am participating in. Firstly, I am attending a chorus school near my home, where I am learning to control my pitch and breathing while singing a song. Secondly, I participate in a college songwriting ensemble where our instructor guides us in developing structured lyrics.

I would like to politely ask for your help to improve my vocals. Although I have been working on it by myself for quite some time, I believe there has been hardly any improvement. The issue is that when I sing for a long time, my throat gets dry and tense, impairing my vocal clarity. Therefore, I am requesting that you guide me on some of the exercises I should perform to keep my throat relaxed while singing.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Alex
